Ogoki Learning Inc.
Who We Are
Ogoki Learning Inc. is an Indigenous-owned technology company dedicated to revitalizing and preserving ancestral languages through modern, accessible technology. We work with Indigenous communities to create digital tools that support language learning, education, and cultural preservation.
What began as a personal project has grown into a global initiative, with more than 280 language apps and interactive learning tools developed to support communities across Turtle Island and beyond.
Our Story
Ogoki Learning was founded by entrepreneur Darrick Baxter, who wanted to help his daughter learn Ojibwe. After realizing that traditional educational materials weren’t meeting her needs, he developed a language-learning app to make learning more engaging and accessible.
When he saw his daughter use the app to speak Ojibwe with her grandmother, he knew its potential extended far beyond his own family. He made the app’s source code freely available, giving Indigenous communities the opportunity to develop their own language-learning tools.
That moment marked the beginning of Ogoki Learning and its ongoing commitment to language revitalization.
